The "Overworld Theme"[1] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for the main overworld in The Legend of Zelda. In addition to reappearing consistently throughout the series The Legend of Zelda, the theme makes several appearances in the Super Mario franchise during crossovers with The Legend of Zelda.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!Edit
The first appearance of the "Overworld Theme" in the Super Mario franchise is in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, where in the episode "Stars in Their Eyes", the Quirks play an arrangement of the theme near the end of the episode, causing Koopa's rocket to malfunction internally.
Super Smash Bros. seriesEdit
In the Super Smash Bros. series, the "Overworld Theme" has appeared and received a new arrangement in every game to date.
WarioWare seriesEdit
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!Edit
In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and the Nintendo GameCube port, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!, an excerpt of the "Overworld Theme" plays in the microgame The Legend of Zelda.
WarioWare: Twisted!Edit
WarioWare: Twisted! features a different microgame entitled The Legend of Zelda, which is also accompanied by an excerpt of the "Overworld Theme."
WarioWare: Touched!Edit
In WarioWare: Touched!, an excerpt of the "Overworld Theme" plays in half of the variations of the microgame The Legend of Zelda. It is not present in the level 1 variation based on Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, or the level 2 and 3 variations that take place inside dungeons.

In the North American and European versions of Donkey Konga, a Latin-inspired arrangement of the "Overworld Theme" is included as a playable song. This arrangement also incorporates the "Fairy Fountain" theme from the same series as a bridge, and briefly includes the series' "Important Item Acquired" jingle. It is titled "The Legend of Zelda Theme." This arrangement returns exclusively in the Japanese version of Donkey Konga 2 for the same purpose. It is also included in the official album Donkey Konga: The Hottest Hits.

In Mario Kart 8 and the Nintendo Switch port, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as part of The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 DLC, an arrangement of the "Overworld Theme" plays in Hyrule Circuit, likewise titled "Hyrule Circuit" in the Nintendo Music app, the official Mario Kart 8 Original Soundtrack album, and Deluxe's Sound Test. This arrangement also incorporates "Zelda's Lullaby," another recurring theme from the same series. A looping drum set beat is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is driving at top speed while in first place.
