History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country series[edit]

Donkey Kong Country[edit]

"Bonus Room Blitz" first appears in Donkey Kong Country as the theme for the game's bonus rooms. It is included on the game's soundtracks, DK Jamz and Super Donkey Kong Game Music CD Jungle Fantasy, as well as on the compilation soundtrack of Donkey Kong Country Trilogy.

The Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country contains its own distinct arrangement of "Bonus Room Blitz."

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the original Donkey Kong Country version of Bonus Room Blitz is available back-to-back with Simian Segue in a track titled "The Map Page / Bonus Level" after the Japanese titles of the themes. The medley appears as a selectable track on Rumble Falls. It reappears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where it can play on any stage from the Super Smash Bros. or Donkey Kong series, as well as in DK Island, Adventure Mode: World of Light's recreation of Kongo Jungle.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate also contains a big-band medley arrangement the same two themes, also titled "The Map Page / Bonus Level," available on the same stages. It also played in the "Items" section of the August 2018 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, while the "Bonus Room Blitz" portion specifically plays in Diddy Kong's fighter showcase video. This arrangement was arranged by Hiroshi Yamaguchi, with Naofumi Harada performing on guitar. Yamaguchi chose to arrange these tracks not only because of his memories of playing Donkey Kong Country with his sister when he was in junior high school, but also to attempt a new genre of music that he would not normally be able to work on at PlatinumGames.[4]

Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge[edit]

In Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge, the level intro theme, both level themes, the win fanfare, and the lose fanfare in Mine Cart Cove, Mini Diddy Kong's world, are all arrangements of "Bonus Room Blitz."
