"World 2 Map (Desert Land)"[1] is a theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario Bros. 3, where it plays in the overworld map for Desert Land, the second world of the game. It consists of only five repeating notes as well as a repeating bassline.

Super Mario Bros. 3 marks the first appearance of "World 2 Map (Desert Land)". It is also included in the official albums Super Mario World, Game Sound Museum: Super Mario Bros. 3, and Famicom Sound History Series: Mario the Music.

In the Super Nintendo Entertainment System remake of Super Mario Bros. 3 in Super Mario All-Stars, an arrangement of "World 2 Map (Desert Land)" plays for the same purpose as in the original game.

In the Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, an arrangement of "World 2 Map (Desert Land)" plays for the same purpose as in the original game.

In The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, four different arrangements of "World 2 Map (Desert Land)" are featured in various episodes of the show.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, an acid jazz medley arrangement of "World 1 Map (Grass Land)", "World 2 Map (Desert Land)", "World 5 Map (Sky Land) - In the Sky", "World 7 Map (Pipe Land)", and "World 3 Map (Water Land)" can play in Free Roam during the day. It is titled "Overworld Medley (Super Mario Bros. 3)" in the Nintendo Music app.
