- “We used a twin violin line to get a sense of dynamism across. The number of playable characters doubles, then triples and quadruples. The hectic, cheerful rhythm adds to the fun, whether you're playing alone or with others.”
- —Liner notes in the Super Mario 3D World Original Soundtrack
"Double Cherry Pass"[1][2] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario 3D World, where it plays in the levels Double Cherry Pass, Clear Pipe Cruise, and Big Bounce Byway.
Composition[edit]
"Double Cherry Pass" is an upbeat piece that heavily incorporates the use of notes or short sequences of notes repeating twice, evoking a musical equivalent to the effect of the Double Cherry. For example, the intro features four instances of the same melody, which can be divided into two phrases, each repeating the melody twice. A cuíca provides additional rhythm to the piece.
