"Golden Hammer",[1] also known as "Power-Up Music",[2] is a musical theme composed by Hirokazu Tanaka for Wrecking Crew, where it plays whenever the player is using the Golden Hammer.

Wrecking Crew marks the first appearance of "Golden Hammer". It is also included in the official albums Game Sound Museum: Wrecking Crew and Famicom 20th Anniversary Original Sound Tracks Vol.1.

Wrecking Crew '98[edit]

In Wrecking Crew '98, a chiptune arrangement of "Golden Hammer" is featured in the game's port of Wrecking Crew, where it plays for the same purpose as in the original game.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

In all games in the Super Smash Bros. series starting with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the original version of "Golden Hammer" plays whenever a player is using the Golden Hammer item.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the original version of "Golden Hammer" can play in the Mario Bros. stage. It is titled "Power-Up Music" in the game's sound test.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the original version of "Golden Hammer" is included in the "Wrecking Crew Retro Medley", which can play in the Duck Hunt stage.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, a medley arrangement of "Phase BGM", "Bonus Phase", and "Golden Hammer" from Wrecking Crew can play in the Wrecking Crew stage. It is titled the "Wrecking Crew Medley" in the game's sound test, and it was arranged by Manabu Namiki.

The "Wrecking Crew Retro Medley" from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS also returns and plays in the same stage.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a medley arrangement of "Golden Hammer" and "Phase BGM" from the same game can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and "Other"-series stage. It is titled the "Wrecking Crew Medley" in the game's sound test, and it was arranged by Tetsuya Shibata.

The "Wrecking Crew Medley" from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the "Wrecking Crew Retro Medley" from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, and the original version of "Golden Hammer" as an individual track all return and can play in the same stages. The former medley and the individual track are titled "Wrecking Crew Medley (for 3DS / Wii U)" and "Power-Up Music - Wrecking Crew" respectively in the game's sound test.
