Floor (Wrecking Crew series)
A floor,[1][2] also known as a scaffold,[3] appears in the Super Mario franchise as a semisolid object primarily in the Wrecking Crew series. Floors as they appear in these games can be climbed through by using a ladder, and first appear in VS. Wrecking Crew.
History
Wrecking Crew series
VS. Wrecking Crew / Wrecking Crew
Floors in VS. Wrecking Crew divide each phase into five parts separated by a solid line of them with no gaps. A floor in Wrecking Crew can be destroyed by breaking the pillar below it, causing objects that were placed on the floor to fall. The side of floors is also solid, which can cause Mario or enemies to get stuck if they land on a drum. If Mario or Luigi is trapped, then the phase has to be restarted.
Wrecking Crew '98
Floors in Wrecking Crew '98 once again serve as platforms for Mario and enemies to stand on, but cannot hold objects. The gaps between floors can be temporarily covered with a solid object, preventing Mario or enemies from going lower.
WarioWare series
Floors in the WarioWare series appear in various microgames themed after Wrecking Crew. Floors in the WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase microgame Wreck. Crew are used by Gotchawrenches to climb down and attack the player character. Floors appear in the WarioWare Gold microgame Wrecking Crew, which is based on a bonus phase from the original game.
Super Smash Bros. series
Floors in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are semisoft platforms featured in a stage titled Wrecking Crew, serving as platforms for fighters to stand on. The floors fall down when all of the ladders and walls are destroyed.
