"Yoshis on the Beach",[1][2] also known as simply "On the Beach",[3] is a musical theme composed by Kazumi Totaka for Yoshi's Story, where it plays in the levels Cloud Cruising and Shy Guy's Ship, as well as the aboveground portions of Lots O'Jelly Fish and Lots O'Fish. It is a tropical arrangement of "Yoshi's Song" from the same game with a different melody for the second half of the theme.

Yoshi's Story[edit]

Yoshi's Story marks the first appearance of "Yoshis on the Beach". It is also included in the official soundtrack albums Music to Pound the Ground to: Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack, Love, Peace & Happiness: The Original Yoshi's Story Soundtrack, and Yoshi Story Original Soundtrack.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games[edit]

In the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, an arrangement of "Yoshis on the Beach" plays in the Dream Long Jump event. It is titled "Dream Long Jump: Yoshi's Picture Book (Yoshi's Story)" in the game's sound test.

Nintendo Land[edit]

In Nintendo Land, an arrangement of "Yoshis on the Beach" plays in the Yoshi's Fruit Cart minigame when drawing the lines for the Yoshi Cart to follow in daytime gates. More instrumentation is added as the player progresses through the attraction's gates, with five total versions being heard.

In Mario Kart World, an arrangement of "Yoshis on the Beach" can play in Free Roam. It is titled "Yoshi's Song (Bossa Nova Ver.)" in the game's pause menu. It was also featured in the Mario Kart World Direct, where it plays during the section revealing the Dash Food item and how it can be used to unlock character outfits.

The "Mario & Zelda Big Band Live" concert series featured a live arrangement of "Yoshis on the Beach" played on xylophone with acoustic guitar accompaniment. It is titled 「ヨッシーストーリー 海辺でヨッシー」 (Yosshī Sutōrī Umibe de Yosshī, "Yoshi's Story Yoshi on the Beach") in the DVD release, and 「海辺でヨッシー (N64:「ヨッシーストーリー」より)」 (Umibe de Yosshī (N64: `Yosshī Sutōrī' Yori), "YOSHI on the beach (NINTENDO64: 「YOSHI'S STORY」)") in the CD release.
