"Game Over"[1] is a musical theme composed by Hirokazu Tanaka for the Game Over screen in the NES version of Dr. Mario.

Dr. Mario[edit]

Dr. Mario marks the first appearance of "Game Over," and it returns for the same purpose in the Classic NES Series port. It is also included the official album Famicom Sound History Series: Mario the Music as part of a medley with "Vs. Game Over."

The Game Boy version does not contain its own version of the theme.

Tetris & Dr. Mario[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, an arrangement of "Game Over" is incorporated in "Chill (Dr. Mario) Ver. 2," which can play in the 75m stage. It was arranged by Hirokazu Tanaka.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, "Chill (Dr. Mario) Ver. 2" from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage. It is titled "Chill (for 3DS / Wii U)" in the game's sound test.
