"Ground BGM",[1] also known as "Ground Background Music",[2] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, where it plays in the ground levels.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island marks the first appearance of "Ground BGM". It is also included in the official soundtrack album Super Mario: Yossy Island Original Sound Version.
In the Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, an arrangement of "Ground BGM" arranged by Taiju Suzuki plays for the same purpose as in the original game.
Super Mario Officially Licensed Music Folio Series[edit]
As part of the Super Mario Officially Licensed Music Folio Series, Super Mario Series for Piano and Super Mario Series for Easy Piano both feature piano arrangements of "Ground BGM" arranged by Shinobu Amayake, while Super Mario Series for Guitar features a guitar arrangement of "Ground BGM" arranged by Satoshi Aikawa. All three arrangements are titled "Ground Background Music".
