Variant of Pokey
Relatives

The heading variety of Pokeys[1] is a type of enemy in the Yoshi's Island series. This variety's grounded segment bounces a smaller green Pokey on top of it.

History[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]

The heading variety of Pokeys first appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and reappears in its reissue. If a Yoshi defeats the Needlenose on a Pokey's head, the grounded segment frowns and lies down, becoming harmless. However, it produces another Needlenose shortly afterwards, and it resumes bouncing it. Pokeys cannot be defeated, with the exception of an Anywhere POW.

Yoshi's New Island[edit]

This variety of Pokey reappears in Yoshi's New Island, alongside normal Pokeys, where they appear only in Underground Pokey Patrol. They act the same as previously.
