Pokey Poms are green pom poms that are also Pokey projectiles. They have white eyes placed on top of large black area of their face. They appear in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World.

Pokey Poms are spit out by Wild Ptooie Piranhas, and following this they fall to the ground and roll forward. Their spiny bodies damage Yoshi on contact, as well as prevent him from stomping them or eating them. Trying to eat a Pokey Pom lightly bounces it away instead, but this does not reverse the Pokey Pom's direction so it will continue rolling as normal upon landing. Pokey Poms defeat other enemies on contact, somewhat reminiscent of Chomp Rocks. There are two exceptions: if a Pokey Pom collides with either another Pokey Pom or a Wild Ptooie Piranha, both enemies are destroyed. Pokey Poms defeat themselves on contact with a wall. The player can also throw a yarn ball at a Pokey Pom to defeat it.

Naming[edit]

"Pokey Pom" is a portmanteau of "Pokey" and "pom pom"
