"The Starship's Journey",[2] also known as "The Starship Sails",[3] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays plays in cutscenes when Starship Mario is traveling to a new world, as well as during the mission "Storming the Sky Fleet" in Sky Station Galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "The Starship's Journey".

An arrangement of "The Starship's Journey" is incorporated in the theme that plays during the staff credits. It is titled "Super Mario Galaxy 2 Credits" in the Nintendo Music app, and it was arranged by Mahito Yokota.

Both "The Starship's Journey" and "Super Mario Galaxy 2 Credits" returns in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purposes. They are both also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack album.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the original version of "The Starship's Journey" can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage. It is titled "The Starship Sails" in the game's sound test.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, a progressive rock arrangement of "The Starship's Journey" can play in Free Roam and on any VS Race route during the day.
