"Yoshi Star Galaxy"[2] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays in the galaxy of the same name, as well as during the mission "The Flotacious Blimp Fruit" in Tall Trunk Galaxy and the first two sections of the mission "The Ultimate Test" in Grandmaster Galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "Yoshi Star Galaxy". It is also included in the official albums Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack and The 30th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. Music. Additional percussion is added to the instrumentation whenever the player rides a Yoshi. Both the original theme and the remix return in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purposes.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, a funk rock arrangement of "Yoshi Star Galaxy" can play in Free Roam during the day.
