"Yoshi Star Galaxy"[2] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays in the the galaxy of the same name, as well as during the mission "The Flotacious Blimp Fruit" in Tall Trunk Galaxy and the first two sections of the mission "The Ultimate Test" in Grandmaster Galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "Yoshi Star Galaxy." Additional percussion is added to the instrumentation whenever the player rides a Yoshi. Both the original theme and the remix return for the same purposes in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. The theme is also included in the official albums Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack and The 30th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. Music.
