In the original Dr. Mario, "Chill" is one of the two selectable themes, with the other being "Fever." Compared to "Fever," "Chill" is less upbeat and more slow-paced.

An arrangement of "Chill" is used for the minigame Dr. Wario, a Dr. Mario imitation in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!. In this version, the bassline from the original piece is brought to the front with different instrumentation, and the percussion is now drums, while the primary track of the intro is much more subdued.
