“You might recognize this pop song from the radio in Dribble's taxi in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$. It's the perfect soundtrack for long drives into the sunset.”
In-game description, WarioWare Gold

"Sci-Fi (Dribble & Spitz) - Drifting Away",[2] also known as simply "Drifting Away",[3][4] is a song composed by Ryoji Yoshitomi for WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, where it plays in Dribble & Spitz's stage, "Sci-Fi". It is played in-universe on the radio in Dribble's taxi while he drives a customer to the Diamond City harbor, on the shore of the Floating Voices. There are four variants of the song, each named after a season of the year, which switch off after each loop of the song.

Lyrics[edit]

The lyrics reference the Floating Voices that Dribble and Spitz's passenger wants to travel to. They also allude to Dribble's taxi and the ocean, which is likely in reference to their passenger as well, who turns out to be a mermaid.

Japanese script Romanization Translation

こがね色の あなたのクーペ
たっぷり バターをぬってあげるわ

街をぬけて 桟橋へ (LET'S GO! LET'S DRIVE!)
息を止めを閉じて ワントゥースリー

濡れる頬 夢中でおよげ そして
波間に 漂う声を ふりきって ねぇ

こがね色の あなたのクーペ
ささやく 波間で一休み

Kogane iro no anata no kūpe
Tappuri batā o nutte ageru wa

Machi o nukete sanbashi e (LET'S GO! LET'S DRIVE!)
Iki o tome o tojite, wan, tū, surī

Nureru hō muchū de oyoge soshite
Namima ni tadayō koe o furikitte nē

Kogane iro no anata no kūpe
Sasayaku nami made hitoyasumi

Your golden-colored coupe
Looks like it has butter spread all over it

Go through the city to the pier (Let's go! Let's drive!)
Hold your breath and close your eyes, 1, 2, 3

With wet cheeks, swim in a trance, then
Let the voices on the waves drift away

Your golden-colored coupe
Takes a rest on the whispering waves
