"Frappe Snowland",[1][2] also known as "Sherbet Land",[1] "Frappe Snowland/Sherbet Land",[3] or simply "Snow",[4] is a musical theme composed by Kenta Nagata for Mario Kart 64, where it plays in Frappe Snowland and Sherbet Land.

Composition[edit]

"Frappe Snowland" draws influence from smooth jazz and lounge. With a moderately fast tempo of 124 beats per minute, it is played in the key of C major. Like most pop music, the theme is set in common time. The opening riff is interpolated from "Walking on Sunshine" by the English rock band Katrina and the Waves.[5] The rest of the theme is driven by a gentle swing rhythm over a wintery soundscape.[6]
