"Starting Grid (Time Trials / Battle)",[1] also known as "Finish Trial",[2] "Start Grid#2 (Time Attack & Battle)",[3] or "Interlude[start grid#2(Time Attack & Battle)]",[4] is a musical jingle composed by Kenta Nagata for Mario Kart 64, where it plays when beginning a Time Trial, VS Race, or Battle Mode. It consists of only a single chord played three times, along with a drum roll.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit[edit]
In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, an arrangement of "Starting Grid (Time Trials / Battle)" plays when beginning a Time Trial, VS Race, or Battle Mode. The rhythm is slightly altered, but it still consists of a single chord played three times, along with a drum roll.
