"Toad's Message",[1][2] also known as "Kinopio's Message",[2] is a musical jingle composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario 64, where it plays when the player talks to a Toad.

History[edit]

Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS[edit]

Super Mario 64 marks the first appearance of "Toad's Message", and it returns for the same purpose in the Nintendo DS remake, Super Mario 64 DS, and the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario 3D All-Stars. It is also included in the official Super Mario 64 Original Soundtrack album.

In Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, an arrangement of "Toad's Message" arranged by Motoi Sakuraba plays during Toad's trophy ceremony. It is titled 「トロフィー 授与 キノピオ」 (Torofī Juyo - Kinopio, "Trophy Award - Toad") in the official Mario Tennis 64 Original Soundtrack album.

Luigi's Mansion[edit]

In Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS remake, an arrangement of "Toad's Message" plays when the player first talks to Toad. This arrangement includes a faithful interpretation of the jingle as well as an extended melody resembling the jingle. It is titled "There, There, Toad" in the Nintendo Music app.

In Hello, Mario!, Hello, Yoshi!, Hello, Luigi!, and Hello, Peach!, a slower-paced arrangement of "Toad's Message" plays when the player uses the screenshot feature, which depicts Toad with a bipod camera.
