The merry-go-round is an object in Super Mario 64. It is a quickly spinning floor found in a room in the basement of Big Boo's Haunt, accessed through doors on either side of the room. The merry-go-round is the focus of the second mission, "Ride Big Boo's Merry-Go-Round", in which the player needs to defeat several Boos emerging from one of the Boo portraits near the merry-go-round, all the while avoiding a flamethrower from another Boo portrait. After the Boos are defeated, a Big Boo appears; once the player attacks him three times, the merry-go-round stops spinning and the Big Boo leaves behind the Power Star in defeat.
The merry-go-round has its own musical theme, which plays inside its room and in the room's vicinity.
