Álbum Super Mario 64 is a sticker album released by the dairy company Soprole in 1997, based on the game of the same name.[1] The sticker album contains exactly 64 stickers, in reference to the game and the console on which it was released. In addition to stickers, the album also features a short story based on the game.
If one manages to complete the sticker album, the back of the album features a coupon that the reader could fill out with their information such as their name, age, address, city, school, and phone number; the coupon could be taken to an exchange point or one of Soprole's offices, where it would be stamped, registering the reader into a drawing including prizes such as Nintendo 64 interactive models and consoles, Super Nintendo Entertainment System consoles, and Game Boy games. The first drawing was on March 31, 1997, while the second was on May 19 of the same year. Prizes won could be exchanged until June 30, 1997 or until the stock ran out. The first 5,000 albums automatically won a Gamewatch Boy.[1]
Plot synopsis[edit]
The story begins by Mario introducing himself to the reader, explaining that he is back for new 3D adventures. As a result of the imagination and creativity from the people at Nintendo, 64-bit processing is now reality. Mario explains that the Nintendo 64 has more memory and capacity to generate 3-D images similar to a film before inviting the reader to complete the album, filling it with stickers from Soprole yogurt products.
Mario then receives an invitation from his lover, Princess Peach, who asks him to come to her castle, as she has prepared a cake for his arrival. However, when Mario arrives at the castle, he soon realizes that something very strange is happening: It does not take him long to discover that Bowser has kidnapped the princess again and hidden Power Stars throughout the castle. With this, Mario begins his latest adventure.
Without much thinking, Mario begins by immersing him in different and dangerous worlds hidden in the walls to recover the stars to restore the castle's power. Obstacles such as cliffs, seas of fire, and deep water put Mario's skills to the test.
However, Mario soon realizes that his skills are not enough to achieve his goal. Disappointed, he meets with his friend Toad, who tells him a secret that will help him be powerful enough to rescue the princess. Mario receives the power of a blue Cap Block, which makes him invisible to his enemies and allows him to pass through walls. Then, with the power of a green Cap Block, he is given indestructible armor that protects from any danger, and with a red Cap Block, he is able to fly to reach the most inaccessible places.
Eventually, Mario faces off against Bowser and his Fire Breath. A battle then begins, where Mario puts his power and agility to the limit to dominate over Bowser's dark power. Eventually, Mario defeats Bowser, who flees to other lands. Mario rescues the princess again, who was trapped in the stained-glass window of her castle. Having restored the power of the stars, Mario, the Princess, and Toad prepare to celebrate with a delicious cake.
The story ends with Mario bidding the reader good luck, hoping to see them on their next adventure.
