The Nintendo Sticker Activity Album is an activity book published by Diamond Publishing in 1991.[1] The book features activities based on Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and The Legend of Zelda, with the first half focusing on Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 and the second half focusing on The Legend of Zelda. The book also comes with a "Magic Decoder," which is used to help solve the activities featured in the book by revealing text and images hidden under red patterns in the activities.
Most of the main activities involve the player using the Magic Decoder to find the correct spot based on the prompt given in the activity. Each of the main activities comes with a scorecard, which ranks the player based on how many tries it took them to solve the activity. These activities can also be done with a second player, where both players compete to be the first to solve the activity. Alongside the main activities, there are also stickers of many characters from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and The Legend of Zelda, whose names are scrambled; the player needs to unscramble the names to discover the names of the characters. Each image contains a hint below providing a brief description of the character's role in the game, which can be used to help determine their name. The characters' unscrambled names are normally hidden in the red boxes below their images, but can be revealed by using the Magic Decoder over the red boxes, allowing them to see the names. After the main activities is a game called Mario Bros. Crazy Coin Flip Race, where two players compete to be the first to travel the board and rescue Princess Toadstool from Wart.
Super Mario characters appearing in the bookEdit
Shy Guys, Sparks, a Ninji, and an Albatoss also appear in the book, but are not named within the book.
Notable mistakes and errorsEdit
- In the original version:
- On the scorecard for the second activity, pharaoh is misspelled as "pharoah."
- In the eighth activity, "Look Out!" is incorrectly formatted as "Lookout!"
- On the Norwegian and Swedish covers, King Koopa's sclerae are colored white instead of yellow.

Version differencesEdit
- In the Swedish translation, the instructions for using the Magic Decoder feature Mario instead of a boy.

NotesEdit
- Though the Mario Bros. Crazy Coin Flip Race features Wart having kidnapped Princess Toadstool, he does not actually kidnap her in Super Mario Bros. 2, where she is one of the four characters the player can select when playing the game alongside Mario, Luigi, and Toad. However, Bowser does kidnap her in Super Mario Bros., and as the book features activities based on both of these games, this may merely be a merger of the two.
