Illustration errorsEdit
- The front cover depicts Mario and Luigi as much tanner than they are in the actual book.
- On the page for King Koopa, his sclerae are colored white insetad of yellow.
- On page 17, several coloring errors are present with Mouser: his gloves and shoes are colored white and purple respectively instead of pink; the rim of his glasses is colored green instead of gray, and his tail is colored gray instead of skin color, though official artwork of Mouser also depicts him with a gray tail.
Differences from the showEdit
- Throughout the book, Toad uses his design from the first three episodes of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! ("The Bird! The Bird!" - "Butch Mario & The Luigi Kid"), with his color scheme swapped, but his vest is lavender instead of white.
- With the exception of Toad, the Mushrooms are depicted as limbless red mushrooms with white spots, similar to Magic Mushrooms, which is shared by all Mushrooms, whereas the show depicts them as more humanoid and wearing clothes, with the colors of the caps being more varied.
- The flowers of Piranha Plants are depicted as orange instead of black.
- Cobrats are depicted with a green body instead of red. Coincidentally, its design resembles the in-game model of Cobrats from Mario Pinball Land, but with its underbelly colored yellow instead of white.
- Hoopsters are designed based off their official artwork for Super Mario Bros. 2, as opposed to their design used for the show. This also true for an Ostro.
- Bob-Ombs are depicted with a drastically different design from the show; its design most resembles its artwork from Super Mario Bros. Print World, but with its limbs colored white instead of tan and its shoes colored orange instead of brown.
- The story "Im Pilzewunderland" features a drastically different premise for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!; while it maintains the original basis of Mario and Luigi having been sucked down a hidden Warp Zone while working on a bathtub, the story features them meeting up with Toad and heading to the Mushroom Castle to use its plumbing to distract King Koopa so that the latter can rescue Princess Toadstool, who is trapped in a cage, with Mario using a Fire Flower to drive him away. In the show, the Mario Bros. defeat a line of Koopa Troopas by rolling into them after descending the bathtub's drainpipe, followed by King Koopa jumping off a nearby cliff.
- A Buzzy Beetle and a Cheep-Cheep appear in the book despite never appearing in the show.
- Blue Ninjis appear in the book, despite only black Ninjis ever appearing in the show.
- An Albatoss is depicted with a mostly brown color scheme, as opposed to the mainly red color scheme seen in the show and games. This is also true for a Porcupo.
- The Sacred Sink of Cramalot is depicted with a showerhead, which is absent in the actual episode.
- Flurries use their design from the Nintendo Comics System as opposed to their design in the show.
- Sultan Pasbah's shirt is depicted as blue instead of purple.
