Super Mario Bros. 2 is the second Super Mario–franchise manga written by Yukio Sawada, following his one-shot. It was published monthly by Wanpakku Comic from 1986 to 1988, back when the company had the rights to create a Super Mario manga from Nintendo. It contained stories based on Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. After the manga finished its run, Sawada started a new series for Wanpakku Comic: Super Mario Bros. 3.
Most of the chapters of Super Mario Bros. 2 have been collected and printed in three volumes. A fourth volume, containing the final chapters, was canceled due to the closure of Wanpakku Comic. This manga has never been reprinted.
