The Nintendo My Play a Tune Book is a book of sheet music published by JTG of Nashville in 1989.[1] The book features original songs based on popular Nintendo series and franchises; the book mainly features songs for the franchises Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, though it also features one song for the Metroid series, "Must Be Metroid." In addition to these songs, the book also features the Mexican folk song "La Bamba." With the exception of "La Bamba" and "Apples and Bananas" (also an original song), the lyrics of the songs featured in the book parody the lyrics of popular children's songs. Each song in the book also has an accompanying image related to the song. The book also comes with an electronic color keyboard to play the songs.
All songs originally written for the book were written by Toni Ellis.[1]
