Super Mario's Adventures is a board book published in 1997 by Sunflower Publishing, written by Joanne Barkan, and illustrated by Dave Philips. It is one of two books in the My Very First Nintendo Game Boy series, the other being Donkey Kong Country. The book contains simple puzzles that tie in with a short story. The cover features a "screen" hosting a moving-parts water game with artwork from Super Mario 64 as the background.

PuzzlesEdit

  1. Meet Mario! This plucky plumber needs your help. Evil King Bowser has jumbled up Mario's tools. Show Mario which tool is on top of all the others. Which one is on the bottom? How many tools are in the pile?
Oh no! King Bowser has stolen all twelve of Mario's spare tools! He's hidden two of them in each of the following puzzles. Can you find them?
  2. The dreaded Koopalings have captured Mario's brother, Luigi! Luckily Mario has power balloons that he can use to defeat his enemies. He must match each balloon with a Koopaling weapon of the same color. One weapon has no matching balloon; it belongs to a secret friend. Find Mario's secret friend.
  3. Mario and Luigi think they're safe at last. But wait! They've tumbled into the land of Sniffits[sic] and Shy Guys! The star they are standing on won't protect them for long. To destroy the evil magic, match each enemy with its identical twin. Then you will discover the one enemy that has no twin.
  4. The brothers have landed in another tight spot! Their dolphin friends swim to the rescue. But every second seems like an hour to Mario and Luigi. Make the time pass faster by finding ten differences between the two pictures.
  5. Help Mario and Luigi get to their friend the Princess without running into King Bowser, the nasty Goomba, or Bob-omb. One route will take them directly to the Princess. A more difficult route takes them first to the mushroom friends and then to the Princess without retracing their path.
  6. A victory dinner! And it's Mario's favorite dish! Toad is pulling on one end of a spaghetti strand. Oops! The other end is already wrapped around someone's fork. Is it the Princess's fork? Luigi's? Or Mario's?
  7. What a day! Mario is dreaming of everyone he met during his great adventure. Who is an enemy, and who is a friend? Can you locate all of them on the previous pages?
P.S. Did you find the twelve hidden tools?
