Monster Trix is a card game released in 1991 by CBD Spiele and tied to Nintendo Power. Like the other Super Mario–franchise games released by the company that year, the game is branded after Super Mario Bros. on the front cover and the manual; however, it is themed after multiple Super Mario games. For instance, the game's box art uses artwork depicting characters and enemies appearing in both Super Mario Bros. 3 and Dr. Mario.
Details[edit]
The game contains 112 cards. Each card features a different number of "monsters" (presumably enemies). If six or more "monsters" of the same type are on the playing field at one time, the player is to slam their hand on the table. If they do so, they will receive all of the cards that are currently in play. If a player runs out of cards, that player is out of the game (thus meaning that in order to win the game, one must presumably be the last player with cards).
