How is it tied to Nintendo Power?[edit]
Of course the Nintendo Power logo is printed on the box, which implies a connection. However, from what I can gather, Monster Trix is an exclusively German card game, whereas Nintendo Power is an exclusively American magazine. So them just pasting the Nintendo Power logo on the box REALLY doesn't make any sense, unless either of the following is true:
- A German version of Nintendo Power DOES exist, after all.
- The "Nintendo Power" logo pasted there is just to indicate it's a Nintendo-branded product and in fact has truly nothing to do with the magazine, despite their logo being used (as in, the manufacturers picked it without realizing the logo is already tied to a Nintendo product).
I'm leaning a bit on the latter since Germany already had their own Nintendo Power equivalent at the time in Club Nintendo, and mindlessly using multiple sub-sources whether or not they make sense together does seem like a commonality in the early 90s (e.g. this same box uses artworks for Super Mario Bros. 1, 3, Dr. Mario, and an Americanized Wart artwork for Super Mario Bros. 2. But who knows?
