Famicom Meiro Game is a magnetic maze game released in 1986. The game was released by Shogakukan, and was made available as furoku in an issue of the Shōgaku Ichinensei magazine. The game features two boards, one of which is themed after Doraemon and the other of which is themed after Super Mario Wakuwaku Game Land. Like most furoku games, Famicom Meiro Game is made almost entirely out of cardboard.
Details[edit]
The object of the game is to guide the player's token from the start of the maze to the end without causing the token to fall over. Two tokens are provided, both of which are double-sided. One token features artwork of Doraemon, and the other features artwork of Mario and Luigi. To guide the token through the maze, players are to first place the token on the magnet at the start of the maze. Players are to then slowly pull and angle tab on the side of the maze, the handle of which is shaped like a Famicom Controller. This allows the player's token to move through the maze. The token is to move along the yellow path; if the token drifts off the path, the token will fall over.
On Doraemon's maze, the player guides Doraemon through his neighborhood. On the Super Mario Wakuwaku Game Land maze, the player guides Mario and Luigi through a series of level themes, beginning in an area set in the ground theme, followed by an underwater area reminiscent of that of World 8-4, and ending in a castle in which the player passes Bowser and rescues Princess Peach.
