Super Mario World is a deck of King Sized Playing Cards released in 1990[1] by Nintendo. The majority of the included cards are simply traditional playing cards lacking Super Mario theming, though select cards feature artwork based on Super Mario World. Said cards also feature the Japanese name of the character depicted on them.
Artwork used[edit]
In one suit, the Joker cards feature artwork of Bowser, the King cards feature artwork of Mario swimming and holding a Koopa Shell, the Queen cards feature artwork of a Magikoopa, and the Jack cards feature artwork of a Chargin' Chuck. In another suit, the King cards feature artwork of Mario jumping off a Dolphin, the Queen cards feature artwork of an Urchin, and the Jack cards feature artwork of a Dino-Torch. In another suit, the King cards feature artwork of Mario knocking a Koopa Troopa off a fence, the Queen cards feature artwork of a Rip Van Fish, and the Jack cards feature artwork of a Baby Yoshi. In the final suit, the King cards feature artwork of Mario running into a Galoomba, the Queen cards feature artwork of a Wiggler, and the Jack cards feature artwork of a jumping Super Koopa. Additionally, the Ace cards feature Mario's face,[2] and the back of each card features artwork of Mario riding Yoshi. Two[3] other[4] decks were also released the same year, though neither deck featured any changes outside of the artwork used on the back of each card.
