Mario Madness is a card game that was released in 1991 by CBD Spiele and tied to Nintendo Power. While the game is branded after Super Mario Bros. on the manual and score card, the game is not themed after a singular Super Mario franchise game. For instance, the box art uses artwork based on that of the Super Mario Land box.

Details[edit]

The game is played in a similar manner to rummy and canasta, in that players are to collect sets and straits to obtain points. Each card features new Super Mario-themed artwork. Cards exclusive to Mario Madness are also available, which appear to be cards depicting Mario giving a peace sign, in addition to the game's logo. After the player has completed a game, players can mark down up to six player names on the provided score card.
