Notable mistakes and errors[edit]

  • Luigi's artwork on both the front of the box and his character pawns depicts him with a green shirt and red overalls, as opposed to the blue shirt and green overalls he had at the time Super Mario Bros. was released. His color scheme concidentally resembles his artwork for the Game & Watch title Mario Bros., but with the colors of his shirt and overalls inverted.
  • Mario is depicted with inconsistent colors. On the front of the box and instruction manual, he has the blue shirt and red overalls he had at the time of the release of Super Mario Bros.. However, on the back of the box and his character pawns, he is depicted with his modern colors, having a red shirt and blue overalls.
