Super Mario Soccer Game is a furoku soccer game released in 1986 by Shogakukan, which was made available in an issue of the Shōgaku Ichinensei magazine. The game is themed after the Super Mario-kun manga. Like most furoku games, it is made almost entirely out of cardboard.

Details[edit]

The game is meant to be played by two players. One player controls Mario, while the other controls Luigi. The object of the game is simply to score the most points. This is done by kicking the die styled after a soccer ball into the other player's goal. To kick the ball, players must bend the legs of the Mario and Luigi cardboard figures. Doing so will cause them to snap back into place, as the legs are attached to rubber bands. While one player is kicking the ball down the field, the other player must attempt to guard their goal in order to prevent the other player from scoring.
