Super Zock is one of four card games themed after the Super Mario franchise that was released by CBD Spiele in 1991. The game is tied to Nintendo Power. Like the other Super Mario–themed games that were released by the company in 1991, the game is branded after Super Mario Bros. on the front cover and manual; however, the game is themed after multiple Super Mario games. For instance, the game's front cover utilizes original illustrations depicting enemies from both Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3.

Details[edit]

The object of the game is to be the first to discard all of the cards from one's hand. In order to do this, players can put down one or more matching cards on one of four discard piles. For a card to match another, it needs to have a number that directly follows whichever number is on the card currently on the top of the discard pile. Players can place cards on multiple discard piles, though the same rules still apply. 13 total numbered cards are available, each of which features an illustration depicting Super Mario characters.[2] Additionally, a Joker card depicting Mario spinning in a Tornado is available, as well as a card reading "Stop" that features artwork of a Fryguy.
