A Chainsaw[1]:51 (also called a Buzz Saw)[1]:96 is an obstacle in Super Mario World. It is a mechanical saw that moves on a track. Chainsaws damage Mario or Luigi unless he does a Spin Jump on them or stomps them while on Yoshi. Chainsaws are in most of the levels that have tracks with platforms traveling across them. Several Chainsaws appear in the Cheese Bridge Area, and two appear in Way Cool.

In the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack in Minecraft, Stonecutters are replaced by Chainsaws.
