History[edit]

Super Mario series[edit]

Super Mario World[edit]

Super Mario World and its re-release Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World mark the first appearances of "Dragon Coin". It is also featured in the game's official soundtrack.

Super Mario Advance series[edit]

In Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, a compressed version of "Dragon Coin" is used for the same purpose as in Super Mario World.

This version returns in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, where it plays when an Advance Coin is collected.

New Super Mario Bros. series[edit]

In New Super Mario Bros., an arrangement of "Dragon Coin" plays when a Star Coin is collected. It is known internally as "SE_OBJ_GET_DRAGON_COIN".[2]

A remix of this arrangement is used in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and onwards.

Super Mario Run[edit]

In Super Mario Run, the New Super Mario Bros. Wii version of "Dragon Coin" plays when a Color coin is collected.

Super Mario Maker 2[edit]

In Super Mario Maker 2, "Dragon Coin" plays when a 10-Coin, 30-Coin, or 50-Coin is collected in the Super Mario World style.

The New Super Mario Bros. Wii version of "Dragon Coin" plays when the same coins are collected in the New Super Mario Bros. U style.

Mario Golf series[edit]

In Mario Golf: World Tour and Mario Golf: Super Rush, the New Super Mario Bros. Wii version of "Dragon Coin" plays when the player collects a Star Coin with their ball.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Nintendo 3DS)[edit]

In the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the New Super Mario Bros. Wii version of "Dragon Coin" plays in the Star Coin collection cutscene in the Golf Plus event.

WarioWare: Get It Together![edit]

In WarioWare: Get It Together!, "Dragon Coin" plays when a Dragon Coin is collected in the Super Mario World microgame.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, an arrangement of "Dragon Coin", similar to the one from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, plays when a Peach Medallion is collected in Free Roam.
