Contents[edit]
- It's-a Me, Mario!
- "This fearless mustachioed plumber never hesitates to jump into battle to defend the imperiled Mushroom Kingdom. With his brother, Luigi, courageous Princess Peach, and trusty Toad and Yoshi at his side—not to mention a variety of awesome power-ups—Mario always shows Bowser who's boss!"
- Draw Mario!
- "Use the grid below to learn how to draw Mario. Take it box by box. Don't forget his bushy mustache! Use your stickers to surround Mario with his fearless friends and fiendish foes."
The reader is tasked with drawing Mario by using the grid background and an image of him on the left.
- What's Your Favorite Power-up?
- "Draw it below, or fill the space with a sticker!"
The reader is tasked with either placing a sticker or making a drawing of their favorite power-up.
- Guess Who?
- "How well do you know Mario's friends and foes? Use your stickers to take this quiz and find out!"
The reader is given a series of questions, each with a silhouette of the character the question is referring to next to it. The reader is tasked with placing a sticker of the character matching the silhouette over it.

"Protecting Princess Peach is hard, but that never keeps this loyal Mushroom Kingdom servant down for long. WHO IS HE?" |
![]() |

"He considers himself Mario's greatest rival, but at the end of the day, he only cares about one thing: cold, hard cash. WHO IS HE?" |
- BwaHaHaHa!
- "Behold, the mighty king of the Koopas! This sinister villain has attempted to take over the Mushroom Kingdom. He commands an army of Koopa Troopas, Goombas, Bullet Bills, and other nasty followers."
- "This is the son of the king of Koopas. He zooms around in his Junior Clown Car and causes trouble alongside the other Koopalings! Find the sticker that fits the space!"

- Rosalina's Cosmos[sic] Wheel
- "Rosalina travels across the galaxy with her Star Wand and crew of Lumas, protecting the spaceways from danger! To discover the name of the space station she calls home, start at the arrow and, going clockwise around the moon, write every other letter in order on the lines below. Then place your favorite Rosalina sticker in the moon!"
The reader is tasked with reading letters around the moon, starting at the arrow and skipping every other letter, to spell out "Comet Observatory."
- Mushroom Kingdom Word Search
- "Unscramble the character names and then look across, down, and diagonally to find them in the puzzle."
After unscrambling the names of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Bowser, Yoshi, Wario, Daisy, Waluigi, Toadette, and Rosalina, the reader is tasked with finding their names in a word search.
- "Four of these names are also hidden backward or upside down in the puzzle! See if you can spot all four backward names. Place stickers in the boxes below when you've discovered all four."
Following the word search, the reader is tasked with figuring out which four characters' names were hidden backwards and upside down and placing those characters' stickers in their respective boxes. The four characters are Bowser, Mario, Peach, and Toad.
- Toad Boxes
- "With a friend, take turns connecting two dots with a straight line. If the line you draw completes a box, put your initials in it and take another turn. Count one point for squares containing your initials. If a box you completed contains a Toad, give yourself two points. When all the boxes are completed, the player with more points wins!"
This is a game where two players take turns drawing lines, connecting them with dots. If one player draws a line that creates a box, they write their initials in the box and receive one point. If there is a Toad in the box, the player receives two points. Whoever has more boxes with their initials written in them wins.
- Dot-to-Dot Reveal Bowser's Minion!
The reader is tasked with solving a dot-to-dot puzzle that forms the outline of a Koopa Paratroopa.
- Koopaling Jigsaw Puzzlers!
- "Can you tell where one troublemaking Koopaling ends and the next begins? Place your sticker puzzle pieces on the missing spots in the puzzle. Don't mess up or the Koopalings might come after you next!"
The reader is tasked with placing stickers resembling puzzle pieces over an unfinished puzzle that, when put together, form an image of all the Koopalings.
- Let's-a Go!
- "Does this scene look familiar? It's often the first level Mario completes on his quest to rescue Princess Peach! Use your stickers to fill in the missing elements."
The reader is tasked with placing stickers of a Piranha Plant, Brick Blocks, Empty Blocks, a Super Mushroom, a ? Block, coins, a Goal Pole, and a fortress over their corresponding spots represented by dotted lines.
- Spot the Imposter
- "Bowser has hidden imposter Toads throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. The Toad Key on the right shows the correct Toads. Can you spot the four odd Toads out below?"
The reader is tasked with finding four imposter Toads that have visual irregularities hidden amongst red, yellow, blue, and purple Toads. The imposter Toads are a red Toad with a blue foot, a yellow Toad with a blue vest, a blue Toad missing the center spot on his head, and a purple Toad whose vest outline is blue.
- Reach Your Luma Limit!
- "Lumas come in all sorts of colors, but Rosalina's trusted companion Polari is the only known black Luma. Help Rosalina reunite with Polari by guiding her through the Luma maze below."
The reader is tasked with going through a maze, avoiding paths that are blocked by Lumas, to reach Polari in the center of it.
- Mushroom Kingdom Friend & Foe Flip Cards!
(Also known as "Bowser and His Minions Friend & Foe Flip Cards!" on the other side.)
- "Cut along the dotted lines to create flip cards with friends on one side and foes on the other."
The reader is tasked with cutting four cards with Toad, Mario, Peach, and Luigi on one side and Bowser Jr., Bowser, a Hammer Bro, and Kamek on the other side, respectively.
- Princess Peach Free Fall!
- "With her sturdy pink parasol, Princess Peach can slow her fall and float away from danger. Draw a path for Peach to drift safely down to the ground while avoiding the Lakitu, Koopas, and Spinies."
The reader is tasked with drawing a pathway for Peach around Brick Blocks, Empty Blocks, and ? Blocks to the ground. There are some paths that are blocked by Koopa Paratroopas through which the reader cannot draw a line.
- Spot the Differences!
- "Bowser resides in a fiery, lava-filled, booby-trapped castle. Mario has to plan every move carefully to make it through unscathed! Can you find all seven differences between these two scenes?"
The reader is tasked with finding seven differences between two images of Bowser's Castle from Mario Kart 8. The differences are a missing horn on the top of the castle, missing bolts on the entryway, a missing Item Box, a missing eye on Bowser's emblem above the entryway, a missing window, a missing emblem on one of the flags, and a missing flag on the roof.
- "A mysterious menace has used a magic paintbrush to steal the color from Princess Peach's favorite pink dress! Find the sticker that matches the culprit's outline so Peach can catch the evildoer. Then connect the dots and color her dress to match your favorite color!"
The reader is tasked with placing a sticker of Bowser Jr. over his silhouette, then solving a dot-to-dot puzzle that forms the outline of Peach, and then coloring the dress to match their favorite color.
- Pipe Maze
- "Not all pipes lead to exciting new areas—some are home to toothy terrors! To learn the name of this pipe-dwelling menace, follow the tangled pipes and write the correct letters in each box."
The reader is tasked with solving a puzzle where each letter is corresponded to a pipe that leads to a box. The reader then writes the letter that is at the start of the pipe into the box. When spelled out, the letters in the boxes read "Piranha Plant."
- Mario's Buzzy Bee Line
- "Bee Mushrooms allow Mario and Luigi to wear Bee Suits and flit above the ground for short periods of time. To discover where Mario and Luigi first encountered Bee Mushrooms, start at the arrow and write every other letter in order in the box below."
The reader is tasked with following letters on a line and skipping every other letter to spell out "Honeyhive Galaxy."
- Mushroom Mayhem!
- "Mushrooms give Mario all sorts of powerful abilities—but watch out for the Poison Mushrooms, which harm him instead! Can you guess which mushroom does what based on the descriptions?"
The reader is tasked with naming five mushrooms based on their descriptions.
Description | Answer |
---|---|
"Everyone knows this classic red mushroom!" | Super Mushroom |
"This mushroom makes a MEGA Mario." | Mega Mushroom |
"This mushroom makes Mario tiny, tiny, tiny." | Mini Mushroom |
"This mushroom helps Mario "buzz" around." | Bee Mushroom |
"Uh-oh...better not touch this toxic mushroom." | Poison Mushroom |
- "Complete each row of mushroom patterns below. Use your stickers to add the next mushroom in the sequence."
Below the mushroom-naming activity, there is an activity where two patterns of mushrooms are shown, and the reader has to complete each pattern by placing a sticker of the mushroom that goes on the blank. The first pattern consists of Super Mushroom, Mini Mushroom, repeat; the second pattern consists of Mega Mushroom, Mini Mushroom, Super Mushroom, Mini Mushroom, repeat.
- "What are Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Daisy, and Toad talking about? Add catchphrase stickers to the speech bubbles to bring their conversation to life—or write in what you think they're saying!"
The reader is tasked with either placing a sticker of a catchphrase to a character who says the aforementioned catchphrase's speech bubble or writing in their own. If the reader chooses the former, Mario's catchphrase is "Let's-a go!", Peach's catchphrase is "Thank you, Mario!", Daisy's catchphrase is "I'm the best!", Luigi's catchphrase is "Okie Dokie! Here we go!", Toad's catchphrase is "Yippee!", and Yoshi's catchphrase is "Yoshi!"
- "Shy Guys' shyness doesn't prevent them from getting up to no good. How many Shy Guys can you count below?"
The reader is tasked with counting 30 Shy Guys and six Fly Guys, making a total of 36 Shy Guys. Next to the text is a box in which the reader writes down the number.
- Watch Out, Luigi!
- "Luigi is the number 1 ghost hunter. Draw a path through the haunted mansion for Luigi. Go through coins and power-ups, but make sure to avoid any Boos! Circle any surprises you find during your journey, and place the corresponding stickers in the box below!"
This is a maze where the reader has to find their way to the exit while avoiding paths blocked by Boos. Throughout the maze, there are Super Stars, a 1-Up Mushroom, coins, a Fire Flower, and a Super Mushroom. If the reader passes through a pathway with those items, the reader places stickers of the items they collected into a box next to the maze.
- Super Sporty Crossword
- "Mario and his friends love sports. Write the name of the sport in the crossword below based on the athletic clues. Then find stickers of each sport to fill in the numbered boxes on the next page."
This is a crossword puzzle. Once the reader figures out a word, they place a sticker of a character doing the sport into the box of the corresponding number of the word answered on the following page.

- "How many words can you make out of the letters in MUSHROOM KINGDOM?"
The reader is tasked with writing down all the words that they can think of from the letters in "Mushroom Kingdom."
- Dry Bones Dig!
- "Dry Bones are skeletal Koopa Troopas known to fall apart when attacked...but they find their way back together after a few seconds! This Dry Bones has fallen to pieces and can't find all his parts. Trace a path through the bone maze to help him find his head."
This is a maze where the reader is tasked with reaching the exit to find the head of a Dry Bones.
- "Mario has reached the end of Bowser's Castle and sent the Koopa King racing off to his next fortress. But it looks like Peach is nowhere to be found! Use the minion code below to decode Toad's message to Mario!"
This is a word puzzle where, using the key, the reader has to write down the letters that correspond to the minions.
Minion(s) | Letter |
---|---|
Hammer Bro | A |
Bob-omb | B |
Birdo | C |
Goomba | D |
Koopa Troopa | E |
Magikoopa | F |

Shy Guy | Q |
Monty Mole | R |
Buzzy Beetle | S |

Wendy | Y |
Lemmy | Z |
When written out, the message reads "Thank you, Mario! But our princess is in another castle!" referencing a line said by the Mushroom retainers after Mario clears a castle level in Super Mario Bros. except for World 8-4.
- Power-up Word Quest!
- "Can you find the names of Mario's power-up items? Each word always follows the next, with no space between words. Move up, down, left, or right, but not diagonally. Then fill the space below the grid with the sticker that shows Mario using the final power-up!"
Starting at the top left of the grid, the reader is tasked with making a line that reads out the power-ups in the following order: Boomerang Flower, Lucky Bell, Penguin Suit, Propeller Mushroom, Super Leaf, Mini Mushroom, Ice Flower, Super Acorn, Mega Mushroom, Statue Leaf, Bee Mushroom, and Fire Flower. The last is the power-up Mario is using in the sticker the reader places in the box next to the grid.
- "Dry Bowser is the result of Bowser taking a hot lava bath! This skeletal form is every bit as dangerous as regular Bowser, though—so don't let your guard down! Can you spot which of the Dry Bowsers below doesn't match the others?"
Four images of Dry Bowser are shown, marked with letters A through D. The reader is tasked with figuring out which one looks different from the others, with the correct answer being C, as the spike closest to the tip of his tail is missing.
- Thwomp Maze!
- "Thwomps are spiky living stones with a habit of THWOMPing down on passersby. Help Mario pick a path through the maze below that avoids crossing in front of any Thwomps, or they'll THWOMP and flatten our hero! If you make it all the way to the end, find a super star sticker and place it in the box so Mario can double back and take out these rocky rabble-rousers!"
This is another maze, where the reader has to find the path that reaches the exit without passing through a Thwomp. Once the maze is cleared, the reader is tasked with placing a sticker of a Super Star in a box near the maze.
- Wario's Word Scramble
- "Wario's greed got the best of him! His partner in crime has stolen his gold and made off with the secret ingredient to Wario's brute strength. Unscramble the names of the characters below, then use the highlighted letter from each answer to reveal the culprit and the pilfered power-up!"
The reader is tasked with unscrambling characters' and minions' names. The letters that are highlighted are then used in the final puzzle to uncover Waluigi's name and the item Wario uses to become stronger: garlic.
Hint | Answer |
---|---|
"A Koopaling with a pretty pink bow—and a bad attitude." | Wendy |
"This Koopa Troopa soars through the sky on a cloud." | Lakitu |
"This bug has a flower on its head—and a quick temper." | Wiggler |
"An oversized ghostly foe—yikes!" | Big Boo |
"Sharp-toothed vegetation with an appetite!" | Piranha Plant |
"This enemy shoots out of its cannon and straight at its foes." | Bullet Bill |
"Some fish just don't want to stay underwater." | Cheep-Cheep |
Once the highlighted letters are unscrambled and placed onto the word puzzle, it reads: "Wario's partner in crime Wlauigi ran off with his gold and gralic!"
- Yoshi Sudoku!
- "Yoshis come in a wide variety of colors, but Mario's pal is known for being green with a red shell. Use your Yoshi stickers to finish the puzzle. Fill in the grid so that Yoshis of each color appear only once in each row, column, and box of nine squares."
This is a sudoku puzzle featuring various colored Yoshis, those being yellow, dark blue, orange, black, red, pink, light blue, purple, and green.
- Koopa Sudoku!
- "Now that you're a pro, you're ready to conquer this puzzle full of Bowser's mean minions! Fill in the grid with your stickers so that each enemy appears only once in each row, column, and box of nine squares. Best to keep these bad guys locked up in this grid!"
This is the same as the "Yoshi Sudoku!" puzzle, except the Yoshis are replaced with some of Bowser's Minions. The minions featured are Shy Guy, Chain Chomp, Lakitu, Goomba, Bullet Bill, Boo, Magikoopa, Cheep Cheep, and Koopa Troopa.
- "When Mario was a baby, Yoshi helped keep the tiny future hero safe from Shy Guys and a dastardly wizard who often kidnapped Baby Luigi! Unscramble the letters below and connect the dots to discover the villain and his minion standing between Yoshi and Baby Mario's stolen twin!"
The reader is tasked with solving two dot-to-dot puzzles that form the outlines of Kamek and a Chain Chomp. Below the drawings, the reader also has to unscramble their names.
- "Toad is missing! Help Toadette find him by following the pipe tunnel that will reunite them! Watch out for the Bloopers and their ink bursts!"
The reader is tasked with finding the correct pipe that leads to Toad and not the Bloopers. The pipes are labeled as letters A through E, with C being the correct pipe.
- "Bowser Jr. is running amok with his magic paintbrush again! This time, he's stolen the color from his dad's loyal followers. Color in the enemies below in the wildest shades possible before Bowser finds out and throws a lava-powered fit!"
The reader is tasked with coloring in drawings of two Piranha Plants in pipes with a Buzzy Beetle beside them, a Bullet Bill being blasted from a Bill Blaster, and three Goombas.
- Spiny Mines!
- "Using your stickers, create a safe path of bricks, boxes, and question blocks for Mario to cross over the Spinies. Don't space them too far apart or Mario may not make the leap! Add power-ups and other obstacles to make the level more complex!"
The reader is tasked with placing stickers of Brick Blocks, Empty Blocks, and ? Blocks over a background of an underground level. The reader can add stickers of power-ups and other obstacles to the background.
- "Find all of the mischievous Koopalings in the puzzle below! But beware—their names are hidden across, up, down, and backward! Bonus points if you can spot these other minions!"
The reader is tasked with finding the Koopalings' names (plus the names of Thwomp, Boo, Kamek, Birdo, and Spiny if the reader desires) in a word search.
- "Once you've found all of their names, find the stickers that match each Koopaling space below to help Mario identify his foes!"
Following the word search, the reader is tasked with placing stickers of the Koopalings over their respective silhouettes.
- Goomba Boxes
- "With a friend, take turns connecting two dots with a straight line. If the line you draw completes a box, put your initials in it and take another turn. Count one point for squares containing your initials. If a box you completed contains a Goomba, subtract two points. When all the boxes are completed, the player with more points wins!"
This is similar to the "Toad Boxes" game, except a player loses two points if that player draws a line that creates a box with a Goomba in it. Whoever has more points at the end wins.
- Spot the Differences!
- "Mario has many friends and many foes. Can you find all six differences between these two scenes?"
The reader is tasked with finding six differences between two near-identical pictures of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, Rosalina, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, a Goomba, a Koopa Troopa, a Koopa Paratroopa, a Boo, Donkey Kong, Bowser, and a Piranha Plant. The differences are a missing flag on the top of Peach's Castle, a missing tree in the background, a missing Super Mushroom on top of an Empty Block, Toad's vest being red instead of blue, a missing crown on Peach's head, and a missing yellow flower.
- Birdo Takes Aim!
- "Birdo and Yoshi are close companions, but once in a while, she likes to engage in some target practice. Draw a path for Yoshi to help him avoid Birdo's egg barrage!"
This is another maze, where the reader is tasked with reaching Birdo while avoiding the paths that are blocked by Birdo's eggs.
- Final Boss!
- "Bowser stands between Mario and restoring order to the Mushroom Kingdom. Use your stickers to pit a powered-up Mario against his spiky foe—and to surround Mario with his closest allies and fiercest enemies!"
The reader is tasked with placing stickers of Mario's friends, enemies, and power-ups around him to defeat Bowser.
- Fun Posters!
- "1. Carefully remove the remaining pages in this book. 2. Tape the pages together in the correct order to complete the poster of Mario and his friends. 3. Hang the poster on a wall with tape. 4. Flip the poster over to create a poster of Bowser and his gang."
The reader is tasked with tearing out the rest of the pages in the book, taping the pages together to form a picture of the second "Spot the Differences!" puzzle on one side and the Koopalings, Bowser Jr., and Bowser on the other, and hanging it on a wall.
Throughout the book, there are posters that can be torn off that the reader is supposed to hang up on a wall. These include:
- Wario and Waluigi along with text reading "Up to No Good!"
- Mario preforming a Ground Pound with text reading "Mario Ground Pound!"
- Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina along with text reading "Princess Power Trio!"
- Yoshi and Birdo with text reading "Yoshi & Birdo."

Notable mistakes and errors[edit]
- In the "Spot the Imposter" activity, red Toads are represented by Toad the character rather than the species of red Toads.
- In the "Reach Your Luma Limit!" activity, one of the types of Lumas blocking paths is Baby Luma, who is seen twice in the maze. Co-Star Luma is also represented twice on the same page.
- The "Wario's Word Scramble" activity has multiple mistakes and errors:
- Lakitus are misinterpreted as a type of Koopa Troopa, when they are their own species in the Koopa clan.
- The highlighted letters for the second letter in "Waluigi" and "garlic" are swapped in the order they are actually supposed to appear in, causing the correct underlined words to be misspelled as "Wlauigi" and "gralic," respectively.
- Cheep Cheep's name given in the puzzle has a dash replacing the space, when Cheep Cheep's name is usually spelled without one.
