In addition, the bottom-right of each page features a QR code captioned "Scan here for more fun" that takes users to the official website for the film when scanned.
Content[edit]
- Introduction
The movie finds brothers and best friends, Mario and Luigi, applying their "let's-a-go" attitude to solve everyday problems all over their new home of the Mushroom Kingdom. They meet a new friend in Yoshi, work to reform a miniaturized Bowser (who is still imprisoned from the last movie), and eagerly look forward to Peach's big birthday party.
When a call for help,[sic] referencing Peach's unexplored past pops up, we'll see Mario and the crew blast off on an unexpected, epic journey, encountering imaginative new worlds, bold characters, and unexpected threats. The addition of the beloved characters Rosalina and Bowser Jr. to the cast promise big action, comedy, emotional conflict, and some shocking revelations fans will love.
In this anxiously awaited second installment of their franchise, this latest film levels up the stakes in a new and exciting way for loyal gamers and movie fans alike.
- Activities
The following twelve activities are featured:
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Players must cut out tokens depicting Mario and Bowser Jr., and then place them on a three-by-three grid featuring coins on each square. The first player to place three of their character tokens in a row wins.
- Bowser Jr's Maze: Players must reach the center of the maze in order to "save the Galaxy" by finding Bowser Jr.'s Magic brush. To reach the center, the player must draw a line moving inward and counterclockwise.
- Matching Pairs: Players must print two copies of the provided page. Then, players are to mix up all of the cards and lay them face down, then take turns flipping them over. If the player matches a pair, they win the round. The game ends once all of the pairs have been matched. Each card features artwork of one of the film's characters in addition to their name, with Mario's card (which reads "Mario time") being the sole exception.
- Word Search: Players are to help Princess Peach find twelve words in a vaguely diamond-shaped grid. Words are hidden forward, backward, up, down, and diagonally. The words are as follows:
- Wand
- Mario
- Luigi
- Peach
- Bowser Jr
- Mushroom
- Fire Flower
- Rosalina
- Bowser
- Lumas
- Yoshi
- Toad
- Spot the Difference: Players are to find eight differences between two pieces of artwork depicting Mario and Luigi jumping. The left picture depicts the artwork accurately, while the right features the following differences:
- Luigi's emblem is missing.
- One of Luigi's shoelaces is missing.
- A large rock by Mario's left foot is not present.
- One of the buttons on Mario's overalls is missing.
- Luigi's chest pocket is missing.
- A planetoid with lava to the left of Luigi is not present.
- One of Mario's ears is missing.
- Mario has six fingers.
- Yoshi's Word Scramble: Players are to help Mario and Yoshi unscramble the six provided words, in addition to writing the unscrambled words in the boxes below each word. Each word unscrambles to the name of a character in the film:
- Mario
- Peach
- Bowser Jr.
- Luigi
- Rosalina
- Yoshi
- Princess Badges: Users are to cut out both badges, one of which features Princess Peach holding her umbrella, and the other of which features Rosalina (referred to as Princess Rosalina) holding her Star Wand. Her badge also features a Luma.
- Create Your Scene: Users are to cut out each piece of artwork provided on the page (which depict a Luma, Mario, Rosalina, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Toad, Wonder Bowser Jr., and Luigi, respectively), and then paste them onto the following page, which depicts a series of shooting stars flying over the Mushroom Kingdom. This is the only activity that takes up two pages.
- Find the Power-ups: Players are to help Luigi beat Bowser by finding all ten ? Blocks in the provided picture, which depicts Bowser standing against a yellow and black graffiti-esque background, which features multiple drawings of Yoshi's face, what appears to be Bowser Jr.'s shell, Mushrooms, the mouth on Bowser Jr.'s bandana, an "X" symbol, and lightning bolts.
- Door Hanger: Users are to cut out a two-sided Bowser Jr.-themed door hanger, in addition to folding along the solid line in the middle of the hanger to make both sides stick together. The right side depicts Bowser Jr. in a Koopa Clown Car against the yellow and black background from "Find the Power-ups", while the right side depicts Wonder Bowser Jr. against a background depicting outer space with the caption "Bowser Jr. Rules".
- Find the Lumas: Players are to count each instance of each color of Luma (of which there are yellow, red, orange, blue, green, and pink) and then write down the total in each Luma's corresponding box. There are eight yellow Lumas, four red Lumas, seven orange Lumas, five blue Lumas, and six green and six pink Lumas. The page also features stylized artwork of a quote said by Rosalina in both Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, this being "May the stars shine down on you".
- Bedroom Door Sign: Players are to cut out the provided sign, which reads "Protect the cosmos", and then put it on their bedroom door. The sign features artwork of Rosalina and Princess Peach, and features a box for the user to write their name in.
