Yellow Luma is the Luma who gets captured alongside Rosalina in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Both are taken to Planet Bowser, where Rosalina breaks the cage holding the two and instructs Yellow Luma to flee.
Yellow Luma crashes in the Mushroom Kingdom during Princess Peach's birthday celebrations. Peach leads a group to investigate the explosion and resulting impact crater, where she discovers Yellow Luma. An exhausted Yellow Luma recovers in Peach's Castle, revealing that Rosalina instructed the Lumas to find Peach in the event of Rosalina's capture. After Peach and Toad decide to search for Rosalina, Yellow Luma transforms into a Launch Star and is not seen for the rest of the film.
Unlike the other standard Lumas seen in the film, who are voiced by Pepper Jelenic, Yellow Luma is voiced by Virginia Dare Jelenic.
