Super Mario Bros. is a novel adaptation of the film of the same name. The novel was written by Todd Strasser and published in 1993 by Fantail.[1] At 128 pages, the novel closely follows the events of the film, but the author relied on earlier versions of the script. As a result, one glaring difference between the novel and the film is that the character of the King is referred to as "King Bowser," as certain drafts of the film intended that to be his name.[10] Other deviations include the inclusion of deleted scenes not present in the final cut of the film.
