Super Mario Bros.: A Coloring Book, also referred to as just Super Mario Bros., is a book published by Western Publishing in 1993 under the Little Golden Books label as part of the Super Mario Bros. series of coloring and activity books.[1] As its title implies, it is based on the live-action Super Mario Bros. film, closely following its plot. Unlike the previous Super Mario Bros. coloring books, which included coloring pages as well as activities, this book includes only coloring pages.

A larger version of the book, titled Super Mario Bros.: A Big Coloring Book, was also released in the same year.[2]

Differences from the film[edit]

  • Pages 16–17 feature where Mario and Luigi are adjacent to a cell containing two half-human half-lizard men, a scene that was deleted from the final film.
  • The book features President Koopa turning Toad into primordial ooze as opposed to a Goomba.
  • The book omits all scenes following President Koopa's defeat, including the ending.
  • In Super Mario Bros.: A Big Coloring Book, Sergeant Simon lacks the mustache he has in the film.
