Super Mario Bros.: Libro para colorear is a book published by Fernández Editores in October 1990 under the Pintodo ILAC Nintendo label as part of the Super Mario Bros. series of coloring and activity books.[1] Unlike the previous coloring books, this book is not based on a particular game or other medium, but instead is based on the Super Mario series in general. This book is not present in Western Publishing's original line of coloring and activity books, and is exclusive to the Latin American Spanish version of the line.
Contents[edit]
As implied by the title, the book contains many pages for the reader to color in. Known coloring pages featured in this book include the following:
- A coloring page of Mario running from a Warp Pipe to another Warp Pipe while holding a Super Mushroom with three Koopa Paratroopas in the background. The caption below reads "Los hongos tienen un fiel amigo: ¡Mario!" ("Mushrooms have a loyal friend: Mario!").
- A coloring page of Mario making a snowball with three snowballs on some snow as snow falls to the ground, reused from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book. The caption below reads "Mario no se pierde ningún deporte invernal." ("Mario doesn't lose in any winter sport.").
- A coloring page of dressed as a chef in a kitchen while cooking some spaghetti, reused from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book.
- A coloring page of Mario hang gliding over the Mushroom Kingdom, reused from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book.
- A coloring page of Mario jumping over the boomerangs a Boomerang Bro throws at him. The caption below reads "Las tortugas atacan con sus mejores armas." ("The turtles attack with their best weapons.").
- A coloring page of Mario in batting gear at a home plate while holding a baseball bat. A Mushroom can be seen in a Warp Pipe off to the left, writing in a notebook with a pencil. The caption below reads "Ningún pitcher ha derrotado a Mario." ("No pitcher has defeated Mario.").
- A coloring page of Mario driving a jalopy along a bumpy dirt road as two birds fly by off to the side, reused from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book.
- A coloring page of Mario roller-skating along a sidewalk, reused from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book.
- A coloring page of Mario being pelted with snowballs by a couple of Koopa Paratroopas. The caption below reads: "¡Corre, Mario, corre!" ("Run, Mario, run!").
- A coloring page of Mario stomping on a Goomba next to a stream. The caption below reads "¡Toma, malvado, toma!" ("Take that, bad guy, take that!").
- A coloring page of Mario running from a couple of Bullet Bills with a Bombshell Koopa in the background. The caption below reads "¡Mario siempre está rodeado por el peligro!" ("Mario is always surrounded by danger!").
In addition to coloring pages, the book also contains several activities. Known activities featured in the book include the Wave Maze puzzle (named the "Aquatic maze" in this book) and the dots and boxes game from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book.

Notable mistakes and errors[edit]
- The rules for the dots and boxes game appear to have been mistranslated from Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book. In Super Mario Bros.: A Big Color/Activity Book, when describing how points are earned, the book tells the reader to count 2 points for each completed square containing Mario and 1 point for a blank square, subtracting 2 points for each square containing Bowser. In this book, however, the rules are to count 2 points for each completed square containing Mario and 1 point for each square containing Bowser, without mentioning how many points are earned when completing a blank square. The book also refers to the Bowser-containg squares in the singular, despite more than one more than one square containing Bowser being present in the game.

Notes[edit]
- The cover of the book uses the opening panel of "Cloud Nine" from Valiant Comics' Super Mario Bros. comics.
- This is the only book in the Super Mario Bros. coloring and activity books to feature a Super Mario Land enemy.
