Super Mario no Tanoshii Tokei Ehon: Ima Nan-ji? is a board book based on Super Mario World released in 1995 by Nagaoka Shoten Co., Ltd.

The book is meant to teach children about time. The way this is executed is via a clock on Yoshi's Egg. The reader can turn the hands of the clock to make the time displayed on the clock pass. The reader is intended to turn the clock to a certain time when the book's text tells them to do so. The clock also displays the scenario that happens at each time.

Plot synopsis[edit]

Cape Mario appears in Pipi-chan and Pun-chan's room at 7:00 AM which startles the former. Pipi-chan thinks it is time for school, but Pun-chan reminds her that it is a Sunday, so there is no school. Mario then shows what Pipi-chan's day is like. Pipi-chan wakes up at 7 in the morning, has breakfast at 8, eats lunch at 12 in the afternoon, plays at 2, has a snack at 3, goes home at 5, takes a bath at 8, and goes to sleep at 9. Today, Pipi-chan and Pun-chan's parents are going out and will return at 4. The parents tell their children to watch the house as their out. The children asks Mario when they are going to play, to which Mario teaches them about hours. At 10, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and a Koopa Troopa arrive at their house. The children asks where Luigi is, to which they state he is late and will arrive at 10:30. Peach brought a cake that resembles a clock to teach the children how to tell time. On this page, Pun-chan is seen with a slice of cake on a fork as the Koopa is chasing him.

Luigi arrives earlier than expected at 10:20, bringing a key. At 11, Mario places the key into a keyhole to enter his world. Pipi-chan carries a clock with her into the keyhole. Pun-chan states he is hungry, so Mario says they will have lunch at Peach's Castle. The next two pages features a maze where questions are asked about how time is correctly displayed. If the reader guesses correctly, they will reach the next question, if they guess it wrong, they will be at a dead end with a Monty Mole, Swoop, Galoomba, Boo, Eerie, or a Spike Top. At the end of the maze, Yoshi exclaims Bowser has arrived.

Bowser takes the key and attempts to kidnap Peach. Without the key, the children will not be able to go home. Pipi-chan notices the time is 4:10, meaning her parents are already at home. Pipi-chan and Pun-chan's parents then wake the children up from their dream. Pipi-chan is able to identify the time, which makes her parents impressed. Pipi-chan receives a gift from Mario: the key to return to Mario's world. The book ends with Pipi-chan wondering if it was all a dream as Mario is seen flying in the sky.
