Go! Mario and Friends is a book added to the "Explore a digital book" section on McDonald's McPlay app in 2017 to promote the April–May wave of Super Mario-themed Happy Meal toys. The book acts as a guide to the Mushroom Kingdom.

The book starts with the reader being welcomed to the Mushroom Kingdom. The book explains how it is meant to be used as an "Explorer's Guide." Each page of the book is focused on a character, a species, multiple enemies, or a power-up and provides profiles for them.

	"Bowser" "Not everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom is as nice as Mario and his friends. You should stay clear of Bowser and his baddies or find a power-up to help you defeat him! He has a very short temper and gets VERY angry, VERY easily He is always plotting something terrible, such as kidnapping Princess Peach Bowser can breathe fire from his mouth!"
	"Meet the rest of the baddies" "These creatures are found all over the Mushroom Kingdom, but they're not friendly. In fact, they work for Bowser and are part of his Koopa Troop." Notable mistakes and errors

• On the cover, the ? Block's "?" symbol was edited out.
• On Luigi's page, the word "practicing" is misspelled as "practising."
• Koopa Troopas are incorrectly referred to as "Koopa Troopers."
• The book says in addition to throwing ice balls, the Penguin Suit can also throw water, even though the Penguin Suit is never shown to do that in any piece of media.
