Otoboke Yoshi-kun is a Super Mario manga series written and illustrated by Michi Ueda and published by Shogakukan in the Shōgaku Ichinensei magazine.[1] The series is aimed at very young readers, and features full color comics with monochrome puzzle strips.
The series was first known as Yoyoi no Yoshi-kun, from September 1991 to February 1994, published in the Shōgaku Ichinensei magazine, though was absent from January to March 1992. After an absence from March to July 1994, it was then known as Totsugeki Super Mario-kun, and went under this name from August to December 1994. After an absence in January 1995, it was then known as Super Donkey Kong-kun for only February and March 1995. Finally, after an absence from April to September 1995, the manga went under the name Otoboke Yoshi-kun, which it had from October 1995 until the end of its run in March 1997.[1]
A picture and activity book, Yoshi Game Island, was also released for the series.
