The Thunderbirdo with Mouser
First appearance The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! - "Toad Warriors" (1989)
Variant of Birdo

The Thunderbirdo[1] is a purple, colossal Birdo, who is also a member of King Koopa's Koopa Pack. It appears in one episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. Its name is based off of "Thunderbird".

In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Toad Warriors", King Koopa, attacking a Rebel Fort in Car Land, calls for the Thunderbirdo to use in the attack. Hearing King Koopa, Mouser rushes to get the Thunderbirdo, who he brings forward on a car.

Once in position, the Thunderbirdo fires a giant egg at the Rebel Fort, which explodes violently upon the building, heavily damaging it. After this first attack on the Rebel Fort, the Thunderbirdo continues blasting the building with more explosive eggs.

Later, after Mario and Princess Toadstool drive away from the semi-demolished Rebel Fort in a spaghetti sauce tanker truck, the Thunderbirdo, riding a car driven by Mouser, tries attacking them. Before the Thunderbirdo fires an egg at the tanker truck, Princess Toadstool, who is riding on the truck's top, throws a Bob-Omb bag into the Thunderbirdo's snout. The Thunderbirdo unwittingly swallows it on reflex, causing it to blow up.

  • When the Thunderbirdo is introduced, its lower body is depicted as green with a yellow belly rather than purple with a white belly; later, just before its explosion, the shot of a panicked Mouser also shows its tail as green.
