A koala is a real-world marsupial that has appeared in the Super Mario franchise.

Only one koala in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! has appeared "Crocodile Mario." When the crocodiles are eating the general store, Princess Toadstool points out that they are close to reaching reaching them, leading the mayor of the Outback suggesting that they all take refuge in the branches of a nearby tree; however, the koala, who lives in the tree, approaches the group, but Toad convinces it that they must borrow its home until they leave to safety.
