"I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is the seventh cover song from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!; it was performed by The Starlite Singers. This cover of Gladys Knight & the Pips song of the same name plays in "Mario and the Beanstalk" when Mario and the others climb their way to the top of the beanstalk and when Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, Toad, and Goosey make their way through the crack on the floor. Every instance of "Grapevine" was instead changed to "bean vine" in the episode's cover, in reference to the beanstalk.
