New Year's Resolutions was an activity on the Nsider subdomain of the official Nintendo website. The activity centered around users sending in resolutions in December of 1997 for 1998 that were centered around Nintendo video games. Many of these resolutions relate to the Super Mario franchise, to the extent that two resolutions were listed from the points of view of Luigi, Bowser, and Mario. The activity was framed as a contest, with certain users who submitted a resolution winning "online fame and glory," likely meaning that their answer was featured on the activity page after the contest ended.

Resolutions relating to the Super Mario franchise[edit]

The Resolution Collection
  • Frank: Oo oo oo ah ah ah. Ugh ugh ugh.-Gorilla Talk for-I Donkey Kong resolve to avoid capture from K. Rool.
  • Zandorender: Get Mario to lose at LEAST 20 if not 30 pounds.
  • MaxCal: I will get it through Mario's head that the Princess is in love with Bowser and doesn't want to be rescued.
  • Brendan Clogston: Convince Krunch to get a driver's license.
  • Jeff Daily: Pay Luigi the money I owe him for bribing him not to appear[sic] in Super Mario 64. And pay for Mario's liposuction.
  • Tommy Price: Torture Bowser by making him listen to nonstop "MMMBop"
  • NOA Amy: Get Bowser to brush his teeth.
  • YoshiEgg: I will pump Yoshi's stomach.
  • Rural: Have Evil Dan tell everyone what "L is real 2041"[sic] means.
Luigi Resolutions
  • This year I will get 007 to take care of my GREEDY brother, Mario, so that I get a chance to save the Princess from the evil clutches of Wizpig, and his gang, consisting of, Sirus, Altair, Artemis, Orian, Regulus, Dr. Kiln, Andross, Janus, Gargos, Turok, Wario, Bowser, Sub-Zero, Dash Rendar. All I can say is that cake better be worth all of this troble[sic]! (PS: I will also lose 15 pounds) (Sent in by Justin S.)
Bowser Resolutions
  • #1 wipe the war paint off (the stuff I had on in super mario 64 [the third strike]) before my next game
  • #2 fatten up mario for my big dinner(raviolli[sic] with a side of Mario)
  • #3 kidnap the princess, yoshi[sic] and toad
  • #4 fix up my Keep (exor[sic] the sword put a whole[sic] in my keep from super mario RPG
Mario Resolutions
