"Kalimari Desert,"[1][2] also known as simply "Desert,"[3] is a musical theme composed by Kenta Nagata for Mario Kart 64, where it plays in the race course of the same name.

Mario Kart 64 marks the first appearance of "Kalimari Desert." It is also included in the official soundtrack albums Mario Kart 64 Race Tracks, Mario Kart 64 Original Soundtrack, and Mario Kart 64: Greatest Hits Soundtrack.
Mario Kart 7Edit
In Mario Kart 7, an arrangement of "Kalimari Desert" plays in N64 Kalimari Desert, likewise titled "N64 Kalimari Desert" in the Nintendo Music app. This arrangement uses higher quality samples, but it is otherwise near identical to the original. A looping drum set beat is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is driving at top speed while in first place.

In Mario Kart Tour, the Mario Kart 7 version of "Kalimari Desert" plays in N64 Kalimari Desert, which was first added in the Tokyo Tour.

In Mario Kart World, a country arrangement of "Kalimari Desert" can play in Free Roam and during routes in Grand Prix or VS Race. In Grand Prix, it is one of three arrangements that can play on the route from Desert Hills to Shy Guy Bazaar in the Flower Cup.
