"Castle Theme",[2] also known as "Castle BGM",[3] is a musical theme composed by Shiho Fujii for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where it plays in the castle levels. This theme succeeds "Castle Theme" from New Super Mario Bros., and would make numerous reappearances throughout the New Super Mario Bros. series. This theme incorporates brief arrangements of "Castle BGM" from Super Mario World approximately 26 and 42 seconds in.

In New Super Mario Bros. 2, a remix of "Castle Theme" incorporating the "Paah" vocals plays in the castle levels.

A woodblock beat is added to the instrumentation whenever Mario or Luigi are in their Raccoon/Fox forms.

A bell synth arpeggiator is added to the instrumentation whenever the Gold Ring is active.

In Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2, the original version of "Castle Theme" plays in New Super Mario Bros. U-style castle-themed levels. Additional bongo percussion is added to the instrumentation whenever the player rides a Yoshi.

An ambient arrangement of "Castle Theme" plays while editing New Super Mario Bros. U-style castle-themed levels in the Course Maker. This arrangement uses eight tracks that fade in and out randomly to create a dynamic mix.

Exclusively in Super Mario Maker 2, a music box arrangement of "Castle Theme" plays in the nighttime version of New Super Mario Bros. U-style castle-themed levels.
